Charlotte Smith joins the Phenotypeca team to expand the research team

Charlotte Smith joins Phenotypeca from the prestigious spider silk research group of Professor Sara Goodacre at the University of Nottingham. She has recently completed studies for her Industrial Biotechnology PhD ‘Spider silk and biotechnology: From natural to synthetic fibres’ after graduating with a first-class honours degree in Biology from the University of York. For her PhD, Charlotte was co-supervised by Neil Thomas (Professor of Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Nottingham) on spider silk protein chemistry. She brings valuable industry experience to the Phenotypeca team from her work at Dstl Porton Down and UCB Slough, which included VHH antibody research.  Charlotte has extensive training in project management (PRINCE2 Agile) and in her leisure time enjoys dressmaking.
